April Fool's Day! What to do for the Thursday Homeschool Workshop? I decided to test their observation skills.... and have a little fun! I constructed a RARE WILDFLOWER, and I decided to "plant" it in the woods.

Because many of the families are on spring vacation, our groups was smaller than usual. To MY surprise, they had decided to bring rakes and gloves and help me with the trails! We started our walk and work, but we still looked for things along the way!

We also saw ants at work.....

and new fern sprouts....

...and we stopped by the lake to look for frogs and fish..and just to see if the water is really wet!

We also saw some real wildflowers! (Trillium)

Our trails back home, Alex spotted the new RARE WILDFLOWER!

After a picnic lunch, we checked on the seeds that we planted. The Sunflowers are already up, and the veggies are a little slower. I truly appreciated the help with the trails, and it was a wonderful warm and sunny day at The Cabin Path!

That's a lovely, simple idea. I think we should all add to this post during the next year so that when April Fool's Day is upon us next year we have lots of ideas...and lots of fun!

Thanks for sharing

Hi Sarah! What a fun and cute April Fools Day prank! It seems to be just the capper on what was no doubt a memorable early spring nature outing. How wonderful that the children brought tools as well, and took part in some stewardship of the trail. Congratulations on this special program and thanks for sharing the cheer.
