Gardening is all about Compassion

Gardening is a wonderful way to connect children with nature and foster compassion.

Gardening is tending to the soil with care and patience.

 

Connected

Gardening gets kids touching and feeling the earth (soil). Insects and birds will visit their plants and vegetables.

 

 

If you do not have access to a garden or yard, you can grow tomatoes, herbs or even potatoes in pots indoors or on a patio.

 

 

By growing your own vegetables or herbs your children begin to see the work that goes into producing their food and where it comes from.

 

 

You then have the gift of being nourished by the harvest.

 

 

We are all connected

Another great way to witness the hard work that goes into producing food for the community  is by visiting local famers markets, orchards and local farms.

 

 

Last year we took part in the grow a row for your neighbours or local food bank. This is a beautiful and simple way for your family to show compassion.
