It was an honor to finally meet the author of Last Child in the Woods and The Nature Principle. At the time of our interview I had already been working on Nature Kids for two years. Nearly everyone I had met during the production of Nature Kids was in someway inspired by the work of this man. What would he be like? What would he say? Needless to say, I was a little taken by surprise when he began our interview by telling me his name was Tom Waits and that he sings songs for a living! As it turned out, it would not be his last joke of the afternoon. The most pleasant surprise of the interview was that 99% of Rich's answers were things I had never heard him say before. Having seen him interviewed so many times previously I didn't expect to hear anything new. I am excited to say that Nature Kids will include some 100% original Richard Louv content... and I don't just mean the Tom Waits joke. Below is a short clip from my interview with Rich. You will be able to see more in Nature Kids in 2013. Thanks, Rich!

From now until October 9th Nature Kids will be running an Indigogo fundraising campaign to raise enough money to fund post-production, distribution and marketing. Exciting perks such as copies of the DVD, buttons, stickers, and tickets to special events are being offered to those who make contributions to the campaign. You can see the Nature Kids Indigogo Campaign here: www.indigogo.com/naturekids.
