RCI RADA GREEN AWARD 2011
Following the recent visit of Professor Peter Burns to your resort and his subsequent report back to RCI, I am
delighted to announce that you have been selected as one of three resorts in Europe who have demonstrated
exceptional sustainable practices and are therefore the recipients of a RADA RCI Green Award.
An extract from the report submitted by Professor Burns stated that “Resort based hotels have special
responsibilities in a) responding to the need for quality experiences for their guests – especially families with
children and b) developing a continuing symbiotic relationship with the natural environment. Trenython
manages both. This is no accident. It is quite clear that their business structure is both framed and driven by
their green agenda”.

Over the last few years we've placed nature identification boards around the resort, created wildlife habitats, we are very fortunate and extremely grateful to the Lost gardens of Heligan for giving us a very very special Bird Nesting Box (there are only 6 in the world like it - the BBC have the others)!
This year we've created a bird hide, a bee & butterfly garden - with a meadow and fruit garden planned! Our small wood has been classed as ancient woodland; 3 years ago you couldn't access it due to overgrown brambles and invasive laurel - once cleareold paths restored - we discovered something special that we didn't realise we had! Bluebells and lots of them !! Did you know 50% of the world's bluebells are here in the UK!
The picture is of last years Easter Egg hunt - yum yum!
