I've just put in a friendship request to you - then if you send me your email I will forward you the information from Scotland about outdoor hygiene. I have the initial document and it will be firmed up into a more official policy shortly.
Thanks for joining C&NN Connect. It's quite an interesting site - a little bit like a rabbit warren. However please do sign up to some of the groups where there is quite a bit of activity, especially the Natural Teachers Network.
I run the Scotland group and the International Group. By sheer chance I'm involved in an urban forest kindergarten project in Scotland. Please do let me know if you want information about this or other similar activities in Scotland.
Hi Taina! I'll echo John's hearty welcome to the forum. Your pictures are indeed quite vivid and inspiring and I've enjoyed what you brought to the discussions. I trust we'll see a lot more of your words and pictures as you make yourself at home on the forum. I also look forward to reading more about your thesis and other work. Cheers!
Hi Taina, and thanks for your great comments about your conference and especially about the fear issue we are dealing with. I am glad to hear parents encourage their kids to be outside. Now the challenge is getting the kids to go outside and separate from their electronic toys.
I am pleased you will share the findings of your study on this site. More of this kind of study is needed. I am familiar with Virginia Lohr's work, but I am sad to say that I never met her before I retired from Washington State University. You have inspired me to connect with her to get her involved in our work connecting children with nature. Thank you for that. Keep sharing. John
Hi Taina and welcome to The Children & Nature Network. Those are great pictures and some serious sunflowers. Keep us posted on your PhD thesis. Great project. We have some folks on the Network who specialize in getting kids outdoors in the winter. I think you can provide some interesting experience for us from Helsinki. I visited there once when I was a college student, on my way to Russia, a long time ago. Thanks for joining the Network and please share your ideas and suggestions often, especially about connecting urban children to nature. John
