Hi Juliet! I like your terminology of "nomadic preschools," but could you clarify how it is used in Scotland and Europe? Is it essentially synonymous with the "forest kindergartens" of Germany, which seemingly have little if anything in the way of permanent facilities? Do your nomadic preschools have a classroom structure, or another sort of "home base?" Thanks for taking a moment to reply, when you can.
BTW, are you attending the World Forum thing in Nebraska next month? I know
that Clare W. came a couple of years ago.
Best wishes.

Hi Juliet!

Thanks for your message. Wow, news travels fast! :-) Great.

I do remember meeting you in England. What a terrific conference that was. I really enjoyed it, and have incorporated a few of the photos I took at Coombes and Oak Grove into my book. (It was in the final review stage before heading to the printer when I returned, but those examples were too lovely to pass up!) - I really like your blog, too. Thanks for writing about all of those projects. Very interesting!

Best wishes,

-Sharon

Hi Juliet-- I hope you enjoy Schoolyard-Enhanced Learning. My hope is that the book will provide helpful tips and information for teachers and other outdoor educators who are interested in making greater use of the schoolyard for instruction. The book is based on many decades of working with schools of all grade spans and demographics. I have found that frequently teachers are interefsted in utlizing outdoor teaching, but need a little encouragement and some practical "nuts and bolts" information.
Enjoy reading! --Herb

Dear Juliet

Thanks for your registration at the childrens cameroon forum. We had a lot of problems in the past but everything is stable now. We already work for two years in cameroon. I hope we are able to establish good relationships between c&nn and wpe, between children and teachers in UK and Cameroon. After the school holydays will be more action. Now is the time to prepare the ground for a better future.

Kids4Trees, in partnership with the World Olympians Association, looks forward to planting events with young British children in 2011 as well as children in other countries. The UK is specially relevant, given the 2012 Olympics in London. I would love to speak with you about coordinating events there and rounding up appropriate sponsors-- tree planting, education, songs, art, a children's concert as part of the Hog Farm Festival, and other events.

Hi Juliet, I read a piece about Richard Louv in the guardian and it mentioned lots of organisations including C&NN ...I eventually found the scottish section and voila! Our nursery is open in the mornings, we provide curriculum education for 3 and 4 year olds and are run by CALA. They are quite forward thinking when it comes to Outdoor Education and so over the past year we have started a weekly outdoor session in a wood outside our village. Have just been on a mindstretchers course ( Risk It) and a course at Aigas and am feeling really enthused! The children love their time outdoor, I always find it's the adults who need persuading. So anyway I am hoping to pick up new ideas etc through this site and find out about other peoples experiences too. We are quite remote so it is not always easy to get to the relevant training and to be honest I hadn't realised how big the movement is until recently, so finding C&NN is great!

Thanks Juliet
I have tried that but cannot see the "Join" button anywhere. I apologize, would love to join but cannot spend hours looking through to find it. If there is a simple way, or if you can direct me to where on the page I am not seeing this button, then I would be happy and delighted to join!Rosie
