I'm the antidote to the "no child left indoors" movement, which is extreme in its anthropocentrism and ignoring the needs of the wildlife. See http://home.pacbell.net/mjvande/louv.
Thanks for your note, Suz. I've posted some photos from Saturday's muddy fun on my page here. My favorites are the mud-encrusted teens, the muddy raincoat-clad family (they had quite a mud fight!) and the one of the father holding his muddy baby as they wait for a rinse-off...this dad brought both his young kids into The Wallow. He was awesome! Cheers, Carmen
I'm keen for NAEE to reciprocate links with CNN... Can you perhaps ask your (?) CEO regarding how we can link on NAEE website and my own blog (via @LearnFromNature ). Kind regards, Henricus
Hi Suz -I didn't think it was possible to feel 'at home' on the web, but I do at C&NN. The best reaction I got from Free and Alive came from a young expectant father-to-be. He told me,
"I've been very negative about having the baby, telling my wife we need a bigger place, a better job...but then I saw your film and now I'm getting kind of excited about having a kid!"
Thank you Suz for the welcome. I've already been sharing informaton about C&NN on facebook and with friends, summer camp owners, and teachers. I feel I've finally found a place that understands my concerns about the disconnect between people and nature and how this is an especially important issue for children growing up.
Thanks for the welcome! I'm hoping to start a nature preschool in Nashville and want to learn more about what's happening and get ideas from other people. There's certainly a lot to learn and explore!
Warm greetings from Turkey. Reading this 'If it’s true that people are self-interested creatures at heart, journalist Richard Louv has a message for humankind: Think not only what we can do for nature, but what nature can do for us.' has inspired me to share our moto with you. In our fliers we had written 'kids need nature- nature needs kids'. So no matter where we're in the world our green minds work in the same way : ))
Thank you for the message. I'm not sure why my website wasn't working, but it is still under construction. It is fully working, but I have more work to do on it, and more product to input.
I look forward to having the time to perusing this website more.
Thank you for the message. I'm excited to utilize this site and the resources.
I received a spam email from this group from someone named "Bella". I am not sure how to send it directly to you but I am posting it below. How do you handle issues like this? Will this person be removed from the group? It appears as though the comment has been removed from my Wall.

A little over a month ago my 10 year old daughter asked me to start a meetup group. We are homeschoolers, we take frequent nature walks,...she wanted to meet other girls her age to share these experiences with. We initially called it "Girls Outdoors" Homeschool Meetup Group. I was unaware of the G.O. movement at the time. We realized that we didn't want to exclude the boys, so we quickly changed it to "Get Outdoors" GO, I thought how clever. Not as original as I thought! Now I come to realize there is a whole movement!!! Wow, this is something I am really passionate about. The outdoors is a natural classroom, a fallen log the perfect place to sit and "Drop Everything And Read". It has been a challenge to get our group outdoors. Even though the 30 some odd families in our group are homeschooled and therefore have a seemingly more flexible schedule, it does not always translate to more outside time. I am working to get us together and Outside! I know this is a wonderful way for children to build friendships and thrive. I really would like to be able help the kids get involved in service projects--stewardship,....caring for local environments.
Thank you for that warm welcome. I too am sad that the first encounter I had was with a spammer. There is a silver lining though. I got to see how awesome you guys are. Quick to help. Love it!
The teleseminars were to help kids get ready for Mother's Day and our usual Sunday night Family Empowerment call.
We're so excited to be a part of C&NN! Our first program is going to be called "Creepy Crawlies" and we're working on the logistics already. My son and I actually got permission to turn part of my Mom's homestead into a Nature Kid getaway/learning center! Woohoo! =)

Thank you, Angie
I would like to place a link to C&NN on my GO Homeschool Meetup Group.
C&NN would listed under sponsors and perks
"Children & Nature Network
We support the Children & Nature Network"
Please let me know if this is OK.
Thank you.
Thanks Suz, I'll take a look at the Natural Families page. This site has very rich content and all relevant and interesting :)
