IditaNature is just around the corner - it starts in just 3 days...on Saturday, March 2nd, just like the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race! Challenge your kids, family, friends, or students to spend as many minutes outside as the Iditarod is long in miles...so 1,150 minutes or 17+ hours over two weeks. If they meet the challenge, the reward can be whatever you dream up. Prizes of outdoor gear or doing something fun together in nature: go out for…

Thank you so much for meeting with us that day. We just got back from the trip on July 9th. We saw SO much!
Hey Carmen, thanks for thinking of me! I found myself unconsciously but widely grinning as I looked through your new mud wallow pics; wonderful! I especially love "Mud bliss."
No wallow yet in Omaha, unless you count me wallowing in over-commitments.... :-)
Need a re-supply on the stickers? I've got plenty in stock due to a large winter print run that also brought costs down a lot; no charge to you, though! And I'm pondering if Green Hearts should do an annual edition sticker or two... 2011 candidates so far are Puddle Power, Worm Worship, and Dig to China! What d'ya think? Any suggestions?
Best,
Ken
P.S. Getting to the Gathering this year? Looks dubious for me, thus far.
Carmen,
The activity Guide os great! Love the bracelet idea as well as the Un-Nature Walk. Very cool. I've started a blog (www.theelementsdc.blogspot.com). More ideas and things to do in the Winter woods. Ironically - I am obsessed with the Iditarod and starting next week - we have the kids participate in the Elements Fantasy Iditarod pool and then the foolowing week - we have our own Elements Idita-run. No snow, no dogs, no sleds - but still lots of fun!
Carmen,
I would love to brainstorm with you on activities for kids and the winter elements. Granted the elements that we contend with at ELEMENTS DC are not nearly as cold as yours in Alaska!
Let me know if you want to chat/email.
