Hi Tobe,
Earth Charter Communities Network right now is all about creating dialogue towards a Sustainable Beijing. ECCN, a US social enterprise, is just a year old but we are doing a lot!
Dialogue matters and reconnecting to nature is a dialogue between a human and the planet that matters. We believe that the more you reconnect to nature the more you will want to help your community do so as well.
So we do Dialogue with Nature events, Dialogue Events around building a Sustainable Beijing. We teach students at Beijing Normal University how to create dialogue and reconnection to nature in middle school geography classes. We want to help the US and China collaborate through explorations of intrinsic values around nature education so we do sustainability dialogue tours too.
I'll be coming to NYC in August to do some exploratory travel for Beijing education scholars and master teachers interested in sustainability education for a trip in 2014. NYC is trying to create a sustainable society and merits exploration by Beijing Education.
Stephanie
I love your photos, and I think what you are doing is grand.
I went to NYU too! Now I am in China, which I guess you know from my profile. I use Beijing Normal University as a kind of lab to help develop a academic field of dialogue. My social enterprise ECCN is also creating collaboration towards a sustainable Beijing in the Beijing community. I think what you do is a wonderful way to create real dialogue.
Congratulations!
Stephanie
Thanks Tobe - Lovely to say "Hello" properly. Your horse photos are quite amazing! I'll work out how to add you to the International Group.
