A Child's First Connection to Nature: The Back Yard

In order for our children to have a connection to the natural world, we should provide that connection in our own back yards. In this video, I highlight some of the features in my suburban backyard wildlife habitat that I introduced to my own children.

Thanks for the info on the 360/480. I am, as you can perhaps guess, a newbie and I am still learning. I will edit that in along with fixing some typos.

b,

I'm happy you have the video posted and hope it helps with your message. The video play back on your site allows the viewer to use 360p or 480p (just to the right of the volume), which affects the quality of the video. Most people aren't aware of this. The video plays much better at 480p. If it's possible to point that out to your readers, they will be able to enjoy the images much better.
Thank you again for helping me share the message.

This is one of my passions and your little video is lovely. I just made a post on it here, on my blog, TheNatureSchool.wordpress.com. With your permission, I'd like to make a follow up post and include this video as part of it.

It's on my work site and also on YouTube.

I'm pulling together some materials for a new video I hope to have out in late March.

Thank you for your comments!

Ernie, you were so smart to plan & to make your backyard a safe & beautiful haven. What a variety of birds! Beautifully done - great still shots, too. Where else are you posting or using this? I decided to look around this forum a bit today - otherwise, I'd have commented sooner.

This is a lovely video. Thanks for posting. If only every child had access to this garden or the equivalent!
