Event Description

* 1-1:30pm Special guided nature treasure hunt (self-guided treasure hunt also available)

Instructor and author Alicia Funk will teach you how to be a wild child, one who knows how to use the native plants in our community for crafts, food, gardening and art.

In this interactive class, learn how to grow and protect native plants and how they help the earth. By growing native plants you can save water, eliminate pesticides and provide food and shelter for wildlife. Learn to make flower art, to turn acorns into food, create a nature journal, and get the chance to taste wild desserts and drinks.

Alicia's book, 'Living Wild: Gardening, Cooking and Healing with Native Plants of the Sierra Nevada' will be on-hand for viewing and purchasing for those who want to continue the fun at home!

Takes place rain or shine! Make a day out of it and bring a picnic lunch.
Nature Shop open.
Free to Placer Nature Center members, General Admission is $3/person.
