Event Description

What are cephalopods? Are they a type of seafood? A fancy engine? A Japanese seashell? Find out as Phil Burgess, a Driftless Area geology expert, explains the life history of these fascinating creatures that are related to today's octopuses, cuttlefish, and squid, roamed northeast Iowa and southwest Wisconsin 490 million years ago, and whose fossils can be found in the rock layers surrounding Marquette and McGregor today. Cephalopod Artist Rendition by: http://galleryhip.com/ordovician-cephalopod.html
