Event Description

Last month Dean Frumkin contributed to a documentary by Roberta Walker with the CBC’s The Current. The piece will air this Monday, May 2. It is entitled Urban by Nature and is  going to air on CBC Radio’s show, The Current.  In Canada it can be heard at 9:05 am across all time zones , live streamed by region on CBC.ca.  In the US, it will air on Sirius Satellite 137, again on The Current at 8:05 am, just after the news.

The documentary explores the concept of “Nature Deficit Disorder “ and the ability of contact/interaction with nature as a way to reduce everything from bullying at schools, to depression to stress ailments to family violence .   The piece will look at how certain elements of the cities stress our brains....but the other piece ties into your work on the importance of nature  for mental and physical human health and some of the need for direction at the policy level.
