Join us for a gathering on the subject of food and sustainability. We’ll enjoy eats from Avanti Café and watch some short films about local food. Eugene Cooke, urban farmer, will discuss the how’s and why’s of Urban Gardening and share simple tools to grow where you are!
Eugene will share insights on further developing the concept of sustainable community development worldwide from his research trips to Kenya where he has studied food growing practices, indigenous recipes and food preparation in rural and urban east Africa. We will apply what has been learned from these trips to our urban areas in the US. If our own fertile areas are protected and cultivated with integrity, we can feed many people and develop a paradise for citizens and travelers looking for an oasis of wellness.
Take a stroll through the Farmer’s Market in University Town Center and then join us at 11am! Pre-registration strongly recommended.
Class Fee: $22
To pre-register for this class, please visit us at our website or call us during our normal business hours at (949) 854-5500.
Don't miss Eugene's upcoming workshops at the Center for Living Peace:
Gardening for your Karma (Part 4 of 4), December 10th, 11am-1pm
