Event Description

Nature Guide Training

Do you like working with children?  Do you like the forest?  Would you like to learn more about the plants and animals here at Tryon Creek?  Are you interested in how Native Americans used our local plants for food, medicine, tools, and shelter? Become an FOTC Nature Guide! We will provide you with the knowledge you need so that you can share it with small groups of children and adults who visit the park during school field trips.

Prospective Nature Guides have two options for attending an Orientation. The evening option takes place on Wednesday, September 14th, 6-9pm and the morning option takes place on Thursday, September 15th, 9am-12pm.  Meet here at the Nature Center and dress to hike.  For more information please contact Sarah Kreisman at (503)636-4398 or  Four more training sessions will follow.
