Event Description

Nature Net’s Digital, Printer-Friendly Passports Have New Winter Content!

Madison, WI

Nature Net took a creative approach to the Nature Passport this year due to the unique circumstances we and our students were faced with in 2020! This past spring, printer-friendly mini passports were made available online at so that kids could engage in special nature missions from anywhere! These passports are a fun way for children to get outside and explore and have fun with their families. To keep students safe and connecting with nature into the winter season, the Nature Passports have been updated with some new winter content!

Texting the special nature keywords on the passport for each Nature Net location reveals a nature challenge that can be completed anywhere - at Nature Net sites or any backyard or neighborhood you’re in! Not only do missions ask kids to look a little closer at their environment, but they also encourage kids to think a little deeper about what's around them and their own connection with nature. The new winter content means even if you’ve already participated before, you can go back and find new challenges to explore and enjoy. And if you haven’t had the chance to engage with the Nature Passport, it’s never too late to start!

The original Nature Passport, as well as the printer-friendly version, are available on the Nature Net website at Full, printed, ready-to-go Passports are also available for pickup from the Passport boxes at selected sites, including Aldo Leopold Nature Center, Bethel Horizons Nature Center, Lussier Family Heritage Center, Pheasant Branch Conservancy, Olbrich Botanical Gardens, Welty Environmental Center, and with your curbside pick up at Wild Birds Unlimited. An updated list of locations is available at
