Join us to explore the many ways we can reconnect children, youth and families with nature, whether by discovering new ways to use our backyards, city parks and other existing outdoor spaces; creating new outdoor areas in schoolyards and neighborhoods; or conserving and providing access to community land.
Keynote speaker Stephen Kellert, Yale University professor emeritus of social ecology and founding board member of the national Children & Nature Network, will open the conference by exploring “The Human Need for Nature, Childhood Development and the Built Environment.” The rest of the day will be filled with informative workshops and networking opportunities that will provide participants with the resources, tools and knowledge to create communities that encourage everyone to spend more time in nature.
The registration fee for the conference is $45, which includes 3 workshop sessions, lunch and refreshments. Registration will open in mid-August.
